Donate Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds
Thank you for considering a stock or equity donation to the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake. Donating sock or equities is a great way to support the Rescue Mission and help end homelessness in the state of Utah. As you may know, the Rescue Mission is completely privately funded and dependent on individuals, business, and churches to partner with us. That partnership provides resources so we can meet basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing while providing our homeless friends with a pathway off the streets and into sobriety, employment, and housing.
Donating stocks can also provide important tax and financial advantages. Please consult your tax professional for details.
Donating stocks or equities is an easy process. The Rescue Mission has a partnership with Cambria Capital who handles the transfer and sale of these items. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Transfer Information – Stock Donations to Rescue Mission of Salt Lake
Provide your broker or financial adviser with the following information:

Step 2) Notify Rescue Mission of Salt Lake
To confirm the proper crediting of your stock donation, please contact us or have your broker contact us to notify us of the transfer. Please send the gift information below to Eileen Crist, Rescue Mission of Salt Lake’s Financial Controller; Eileen@RescueSaltLake.org. Please provide the following information:
- Date of stock transfer
- Number of shares
- Name of stock
- Correct spelling of your name
- Your complete mailing address
IRA Required Minimum Distribution
If you are 70.5 years old or older, you may be able to make a life-changing gift from your IRA account to the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake and potentially save on your taxes!
Memorial and Honorary Gifts
There’s no better way to remember or honor a loved one than by helping the most vulnerable people in our community. Each memorial gift is acknowledged by a letter mailed to the family of the deceased.
