About Us
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
John 15:12
The Ogden Rescue Mission is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1964 to help the homeless and Restore Broken Lives. Today, we have grown to five locations along the Wasatch Front from Ogden to the Salt Lake Valley. We are a safe place where those who are homeless can experience the love of Christ and discover a pathway off the streets. Our desire is to see lives changed as people find faith in Christ and strive to reach goals of sobriety, employment, and housing.
Ending Homelessness and Restoring Lives in the name of Jesus Christ
In 1964 the Ogden Rescue Mission began serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in Ogden and the outlying areas. The Mission began serving the homeless community with only 12 beds for men and 3 beds for women and children. In 1999 the Mission expanded to 48 beds for men and 12 beds for women and children, as well as an overflow shelter which brings our nightly capacity to 130 people. The Mission has services to meet the immediate needs of our homeless friends (food, shelter, clothing, and more) as well as comprehensive, life-changing programs to provide a pathway off the streets through addiction recovery, Christian education, employment, housing, and restoration of relationships.
The Rescue Mission tries to spotlight the struggles our homeless friends face and our efforts to help them. This month, we want to share the story of Utah’s hidden homeless, caused by skyrocketing housing costs and underemployment along the Wasatch Front.
We are committed to financial stewardship and accountability, as well as demonstrating excellence by being transparent with our finances.
